Jaden Garza

It takes a lot. To be honest, to become a successful entrepreneur, it takes a lot of effort and sacrifice. If anyone ever tells you that he or she always had a knack for being an entrepreneur or they had it ever since they were born – BS. It’s a lie. Straight-up BS.

I’m Jaden Garza, an entrepreneur, a visionary in tech, and founder and CEO of Nomad Internet. Today, I will share with you my entrepreneurial journey, and how I ended up here.
It wasn’t a bed full of roses. I had my fair share of ups and downs. I had my fair share of setbacks and successes.

You are listening to someone who messed up his own company’s fundraising. I didn’t take it seriously. I treated it as a fashion parade. I didn’t prepare well for my pitch.
A lot of hiccups and eventual failures. A lot of planning and strategy but still falling short of the goals. A lot of financial issues, affected my reputation, salty relationships, and low morale.
But I had one quality. Despite all the negatives that were going on, I had the quality of never giving up. Never quit. Day in and day out, I always kept saying to myself, “Don’t you ever back off boy!” You have to keep going until you get what you want.

And that’s what I did. When I was working in my company, in the early years, I knew had to change my approach. If I have to do it good, do it big, I have to take things seriously. That’s when I started to cultivate a growth mindset. A mindset that not only has driven me to success but also my team members.

Reflecting and learning were by far the biggest part of my entrepreneurial journey. This was cultivated when I failed to achieve solid fundraising from the investors to whom I pitched my business idea. The mistake was mine. I went unprepared. And that's when I realized I have to learn first and then get into doing things.

Fundraising rejection was a setback for me. But instead of whining about it, I reflected on it and looked back on where I was wrong. And, guess what honest introspection and self-assessment helped me a lot. It helped me position myself in a better way.

And when became good at doing these things, I learned to adapt and pivot. I still remember when my competitors were eating my company alive in the market. But I’m not someone who has a weak heart. I tried to find new opportunities, opportunities that my competitors were missing. Areas that they never touched. I explored the unknown and tapped into untapped resources.

That’s when I was able to take my company ahead of the competitors.

Since then it’s been quite a journey that I will always be proud of until my last breath. If someone ever asks, “Mr. Jaden Garza, describe your entrepreneurial journey in one sentence?”
My answer? – Embrace a growth mindset, reflect on what you are doing, learn from mistakes, ask for support, adapt, pivot, and stay resilient.
